Senior Manager, CAMCO CLEAN ENERGY
Eugene is a Senior Manager at Camco, having joined the company in 2015. He is based in Nairobi and is currently managing Camco’s work on the REPP mandate in the Eastern Africa region.
Eugene has over 15 years’ working experience and extensive project management experience. He started his career with Chase Bank, Siemens, Allianz Asset Managers and Shell Africa working in several analytical and managerial roles. More recently he has been working in the renewable energy sector in Kenya, firstly as East African Lead for Finance and Competence AB, where he advised several renewable energy project developers on financial strategy, negotiations with potential equity and debt providers and local legal and regulatory requirements.
Subsequently at Camco, Eugene has been responsible for identifying renewable energy projects (including mini-grid projects) that would be eligible for support through the GAP and REPP mandates, participating in appraisal of potential projects, liaising with project developers to negotiate termsheets and Support Agreements and optimising financial structuring of supported projects. He is also involved in carrying out project due diligence and managing disbursements to projects.
Eugene has an MBA from Warwick Business School in the UK (specialising in Global Energy) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Nairobi, School of Business.
